Chiropractic has always been a very misunderstood profession. Some think it's the best thing since sliced-bread while other think we burn candles and practice a form of voodoo magic and want nothing to do with it. The truth is, some chiropractors don't even know what they do. Many think they just "pop" joints and make people feel a little better. That sounds pretty boring to me. With all this being said, we thought it would be a good idea to define what we really do in the office. (beyond burning candles and eating granola all day).

1. Crisis Care: Many people start their chiropractic relationship with a visit based on an absolute burning necessity. They feel awful and want the pain to go away as soon as possible. Usually they come hobbling, rolled or wheeled into the office near the brink of losing their sanity. This is a simple place to start because there is a very distinct thing that is trying to be fixed: PAIN.  That usually takes about 2 weeks to see someone really get back to where they were and then comes the conversation...What next?

2. Proactive/Preventative Care: People decide they don't want to feel that way again and are willing to take an ACTIVE role in their care and do things even when they don't feel horrible at this point. Pain is a strong motivator so this stage usually takes a person that wants to never go back to that awful place and understands that they have to take ownership over their role. We provide a simple path and it's just a matter of the individual following it and doing the little things outside of the clinic. The more you do at home, the less you have to hang out with us but our goal is you never fall off the "feel-good" wagon again and end up a crippled mess. This is a huge step for people but there is still one more critical step for people to take.

3. Health and Function Care: This is where people truly see the bigger benefits of chiropractic. This is beyond pain. It's beyond pain prevention. It's about getting healthier. It's about being more functional as we age. It's about kids not getting sick. It's about kids developing properly. It's about getting off the pills and taking control of health and not being a victim of sickness and disease. It's about quality of life. It's about not worrying about the little things that might hurt you or make you sick because you know you have a secret weapon. One that builds your immune system. One that stabilizes your structure. One that eases the stress of your mind. This is the next step. It's the step that we know a person has taken when the rest of their family shows up or their co-workers come in even when they aren't in pain. It's when they don't miss an appointment because they see it as an investment they make weekly or monthly that is critical to their longevity and ability to do what they want when they want. These people get "it". They have CHOSEN to live healthy and have taken ACTION to make sure it happens.

We want this for you. The power of chiropractic is based upon how you use it. There is no right or wrong way to use it. You may start in one phase of care and not do the other forms for a period of time. You may jump right in off the bat. That is your choice. We are here to honor your choice and help you get the best results possible.

We thank you for your commitment to your health and to the health of those around you. It's a pleasure to serve you and please don't hesitate to ask us what are ways you can better help yourself both in and out of our office.
